Week 23rd March Blog

Hi Guys

Hope everyone is keeping safe during these difficult times. I am hoping everyone has received their child’s activity pack, if not don’t worry they are en route and will hopefully pass some time by for your little ones.

On a good note I am able to keep you guys busy with some little weekly challenges via this blog.

This week is all about mark making in lots of different forms.  I would like the children to have a go at holding a pen/pencil/mark making tool correctly with the tripod grip - this is with the thumb and first two fingers around the bottom of the mark pen/pencil.  I would like them to carry on building this skill by following lines of all patterns such as wavy, zig zag, circles, straight etc or making their own patterns. I have put a few of these in your activity packs to practise. This doesn’t have to be in the form of pencil to paper you could practise on your garden fences with water and a paint brush, old wallpaper placed on the floor using crayons, pens, pencils, paint brushes you could also mark make in the mud using sticks, or in play dough.

Remember encourage your children to pick and flick their tool or baby shark fingers.

Have a good week guys stay safe,
Claire
