British Science Week- Learning about honey bees.

Oak Class enjoyed a visit from Craig Ellis (Climate Action Programme Manager,The
Alnwick Garden) during British Science Week.   He brought with him a beehive (without the bees!), bee frames and the protective clothing worn by beekeepers.  The children had a chance to touch and smell the bee frames filled with wax and honey.  They also learnt about the different roles of the queen bee, worker bees and the drones.  And they had lots of questions for Craig!
