Meet the Oak Class team
Hello everyone! We're really looking forward to getting to know you all in September but we thought it would be nice if you knew a little bit about us before then.
Mr Johnson
How long have you been a teacher?
I’ve been teaching for a long time now (since before you were born) and all of that time has been at Swansfield Park Primary, although the school used to have a different name. That means I might have taught some of your older brothers or sisters, or maybe even your parents!
Do you have any hobbies?
I love reading, watching films, football and music. I also like to play the drums (very loudly).
If you were a colour, what would you be?
If I was a colour, I would be blue because blue can be a very calm colour (light blue) or a lively colour (electric blue) and that’s a lot like me - mostly calm but easily excitable!
What is your favourite animal?
My favourite animal is an orangutan. I think they are the most amazing animals. Why do I like them so much? Well, they are really smart, they build a new nest to sleep in every night, they’ve got extremely long arms (their arm span can be over 2 metres) and they don’t mind eating with their feet. Also, they look awesome! What’s not to like?
If you could have any super power, what would you choose?
Well, my favourite superhero is Spider-Man so I think I'd choose to have his spider powers, mainly so I could climb up walls and hang upside down from ceilings.
What's the best thing about your job?
There are lots of things I love about my job. As well as learning and exploring with my class, I enjoy all the fun and laughter that goes along with it; however, if I had to choose one thing, I would choose lightbulb moments. “What’s a lightbulb moment?”, I hear you ask. Well, imagine you didn’t understand something or you were finding it tricky. Now imagine that someone says or shows you something, or you keep working at a problem, and then all of a sudden, in a flash, you understand and can do it! That’s a lightbulb moment (and teachers love them).

What is your favourite animal?
My favourite animal has got to be my dog, Gracie, of course!
What is the best place you've ever been on holiday?
This is a tricky one but I think I'd choose Luxor in Egypt.
If you could have any super power, what would you choose?
I'd love to be able to time travel! It would be great if I could move backwards and forwards through time with the click of my fingers.
What is the best thing about working in school?
The best thing about working in school is being with the children, seeing them learn and grow in their minds.
