Weekly spellings and homework

Dear parents and grandparents,

This half term in history we are learning all about our school.  We will be investigating how it has changed over time and also thinking about the things that remain the same today.

It would be wonderful if you could share some of your school memories with us by answering these questions. We would also love to see some photographs of your time at school.

What was your first school?

How did you get to school?

What lessons did you have?

How did your teacher take the register?

Did you have computers?

Did you sit on the carpet or at a table?

What did you have for school dinner?

What is your key memory?

How do you think school has changed since you were there?

What happened if anyone misbehaved? What punishments were there?

Did you go on any school trips?

Did you have milk at school? Was it in a carton?

What playground games did you play?

What did you do after school? Did you go to a club? The park? Playout? Did you have to do jobs at home?

*We are also looking for a parent and a grandparent with children at Swansfield (and who went to Swansfield themselves) who would be willing to come into school and have the children video their memories!  Next year it will be the schools 70th anniversary and it would be lovely to have some footage and photographs of memories of our school for the children to learn about now and to share in any celebrations next year!

 Thank you for your support.
