Spooky Half Term Activities- 31.10.22

The weather is was still bright and sunny, so we began the Half Term holiday with a spooky scavenger hunt all around the field. We looked for lots of things - including silhouettes of bats (giant leaves), cauldron stirrers (twigs) and goblin's eyeballs (conkers) . Once we had collected our treasures we dragged up some logs and searched for twigs to create creepy skeletons.
In the afternoon, we hunted for spiders in gloop and got messy making handprint spiders.
Our favourite Autumn activity - carving pumpkins. Once the tops had been removed everyone got stuck in, pulling out all the seeds and squidgy stuff with lots shrieks and gasps of horror. Then we moved onto the serious part - designing the face for the lantern. When the designed had been agreed on (we were working in teams) the children used the knives to carefully carve their designs into the pumpkins. The final lanterns were amazing.
Hallowe'en Party 2022.
We had a fantastic day filled with laughter and lots of games. Wild exciting games such as splat the rat and grabbing apples from a string interspersed with more quiet, dexterous games such pinning the tail on the cat and picking spiders out of the sticky web.
