Day 3 (2019)

Another fantastic day on our adventure!

This morning we were all up bright and early to make sure we were fully packed and ready to move from Manchester to Haworth. Another hearty breakfast and away we went!

The Manchester City FC Stadium tour was a super experience! We took some great photos as we explored the stadium. Our guides gave us lots of interesting information about the history of Man City FC and their stadium. We got to sit in the players’ dugout seats and even walked down the tunnel to the pitch just like the players do! It was such a great time! We sat in the home team’s rather nice changing rooms and watched a video showing a half time team ‘Pep’ talk…Of course the words Newcastle United and Sunderland FC had to get mentioned a few times during the morning!...

There had been some improvements to the tour this year and it was even better! Our biggest highlight had to be appearing with the Man City FC manager in the press room. Just like yesterday it was amazing to see great technology in action! Check out the photos.

At the end of our tour we had some quality time to explore the gift shop where we got 10% off our purchases with our special lanyards (which many of us will be bringing home!). Plenty of footballs of all sizes as well as smaller purchases made their way onto the bus for the journey to Haworth.

We enjoyed some afternoon sunshine in the park, had a hearty meal in the youth hostel and we are finishing the day watching the Lego movie with a treat from the vending machine!

It was sad to say goodbye to Mrs Grimes today who headed home, however, we were really pleased to welcome Mrs Murdy! She will be with us for the rest of the residential. Mrs Smith has invited the pupils to share their highlights of the trip in an article in the next school newsletter. Do look out for this article which is being written as we speak… It will be an excellent read!

Fingers crossed for a good night’s sleep. We’ll be in touch tomorrow with even more memories.
